Young athletes from Hethersett Academy raced to trophy glory as schools across Norfolk and Suffolk competed at the Inspiration Trust’s annual Champions Day.
More than 600 students from Hethersett Academy, Jane Austen College and The Hewett Academy in Norwich, Cromer Academy, Thetford Academy, East Point Academy in Lowestoft, and Great Yarmouth Charter Academy came together for the Inspiration Trust’s annual sporting celebration on Tuesday, May 7 at the UEA Sportspark.
The teams showed off their talents in track and field events including individual and relay races, long and high jump, javelin, shot put, and discus.
Hethersett Academy took home the winners' trophy for the first time, with last year’s champions Cromer Academy coming in second and Great Yarmouth Charter Academy taking third place.
Organiser Ben Atkins from Jane Austen College said: “Thank you to all seven secondary schools for making this a fantastic event.
“The day was a celebration of talented athletes from across the Trust, with some excellent performances throughout the day and a number of records broken.
“Congratulations to Hethersett for their first ever Champions Day win.”
