Success story for writer Deborah

A young author from Cromer Academy showed she had the write stuff as she won a prestigious competition to find the next generation of literary talent.
Year 11 pupil Deborah McKeown won the Young Norfolk Writing Competition, an annual contest run by the National Centre for Writing in Norwich.
Her short story ‘Purgatory’ was one of six winners selected from a total of 173 entries.
Deborah received her prize at an awards ceremony at Norwich's Dragon Hall in July, with a workshop by poet Piers Harrison-Reid.
The winning authors are also being considered for a Writer Laureateship.
